Basics in using the Computer |

March 16, 23 & 30th 1:00pm-3:00pm This is a hands on course. A windows operating system (from Microsoft) will be used. You will learn how to use a mouse, printer, memory stick and scanner. You will create files and folders. You will be introduced to word processor, spreadsheets and the internet. If you have your own laptop computer, bring it. If you do not have a computer that can be brought to class, computers will be available for use during the class. There will also be handouts to help you after class. Beginning Digital Photography |

April 7 & 14 1:00pm-3:00pm This course is intended for those who enjoy using their "point and shoot" digital cameras but have little or no understanding of digital photography. Through this course, you will learn the fundamentals of exposure (aperture and shutter speeds), zoom, flash (range and effectiveness), lighting, Megapixels and image size, Image quality and file types (JPG, TIFF), optical vs. digital zoom, memory cards, using the menus, taking pictures and movie clips, downloading pictures to your computer and fundamental principals of digital imaging (resolution, pixels and size). Please bring your Digital Camera! There will also be handouts to help you after class. Please sign up below prior to this class.

Using the Internet Effectively |

May 7 & 14 10:00am-12:00pm This is a “hands on” course using laptop computers and the wireless internet available in the Community Center. There will be some explanations how the internet and search “engines” works. Several web sites will be visited: eBay, Craig’s List, Wikipedia, a site for medical research, a retail site, and others. Student interest will dictate other sites that will be visited. If you have your own laptop computer, bring it. If you don’t have a computer that can be brought to class, computers will be available for use during the class. There will also be handouts to help you after the class.
